American Veteran 04

Chadwick James Gore

September 12, 2000 ~ June 18, 2022 (age 21) 21 Years Old

Tribute

The best way to remember James is through the words of those who knew him; a teacher, the parent of a high school friend, high school friends, and members of his most recent Army unit:

“I am heartbroken to think that dear little James, that sweet-faced little boy I knew for all those years has passed. I do know that the light of Christ shone through him and I believe he is in the arms of our Lord.”

“James lit up every room he entered, and everyone fell in love with his charm and wit immediately!!!”

“There are very few people in this world with the kind of light and joy that can infect an entire room full of people, and he was one of them.”

“He felt like a light and brightened up every room he walked into.”

“A care-free, charismatic jokester who was loved and is loved by many. Your name will forever be etched in our hearts and mind.”

“Let’s live to be more like Gore, full of joy and happiness.”

Chadwick “James” Gore was born September 12, 2000, in Falls Church, Virginia, to Suzanne Scholte and Chadwick Gore, the little brother of Chester Harlech Gore and Captain Christian B. Gore. Everyone who knew James knew he was a delight to be around, a real joy with a wonderful sense of humor. He attended Montessori for pre-school, Sleepy Hollow Elementary School, Immanuel Christian School, Jeb Stuart High School, and graduated from Annandale High School in 2019. He loved sports, including football, wrestling, and lacrosse. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was a member of Boy Scout Troop 349. He was chosen “Fan Favorite” for the Mr. Annandale competition at his High School, which we are convinced was not because of his James Bond impression, but he won because of his dancing on stage with pompoms to Miley Cyrus’ "Party in the USA.”

Upon entering the U.S. Army, he attended Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Advanced Individual Training as a 35F (All Source Intelligence Analyst) at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. In March of 2021, Specialist Gore reported to the Military Intelligence Company of the 3rd Brigade Engineering Battalion, 1st Calvary Division, at Fort Hood, Kileen, Texas, where he served as an All Source Intelligence Analyst. In April of 2022, he was assigned to Bravo Company, 163D Military Intelligence Battalion, 504th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade.  He had just signed up to take classes so he could enter the Green to Gold program as he planned to make the US Army his full-time career. He loved the Army, he loved Texas, he loved serving as an intelligence analyst, but most of all, he loved being Evelynn’s Dad.

Specialist Gore’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.
