August 20, 1938 ~ July 13, 2022 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Tribute

We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Katherine Baeff, 83, in her home in Falls Church, VA. Born Katherine Bouras on August 20, 1938, in Waltham, MA, Kathy graduated from Brockton High School and attended Burdett College. While trained as a medical assistant early in her career, Kathy’s passion was people. She spent more than 30 years in the recruiting business, most of which were spent running Katherine Baeff Personnel where she dedicated tireless hours in touching the lives of many through career counseling and placement. She was married to the love of her life Vassil Baeff, with whom she moved to Paris, France for 9 years, where her daughter was born, and where she flourished as both an artist and avid French cook. Back in Westchester County, NY, Kathy continued with her artistic passion and many of her paintings can be found in homes of those she held dear. She wrote a cookbook which her daughter and extended family members still use today to bring to life Greek recipes handed down through multiple generations. Kathy spent many years volunteering in pastoral care at White Plains Hospital and at St. Michaels Nursing Home. Kathy moved to Falls Church, VA in 2019 to be closer to her daughter, son-in law, and grandson, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally. She was often the loudest one cheering at her grandson’s baseball and basketball games and quickly became a favorite on the bleachers and sidelines. Kathy is preceded in passing by her husband as well as her brothers, George and Leonard, and is survived by her daughter Kristen Rachinsky (husband Joe), grandson Zachary, of Fairfax, VA, and by 7 nieces and nephews. Above all else, Kathy was a deeply religious and devoted parishioner at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where she sang in the choir and her faith brought her to serve regularly and across multiple ministries until her move to VA. Funeral services will take place on Monday July 18 at 10 am, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in New Rochelle, and the burial will take place on Tuesday, July 19, at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in New Rochelle, NY.
