Paul and I grew up in Southside Bethlehem,PA as grade school classmates. I remember his yellow 427 Chevy Stingray that he got from his parents upon HS graduation. He went on to Lehigh Univ. while I went to Moravian College, both in Bethlehem. I remember his wife, Stephanie, since she was a lifeguard , as was I ,at Yosko Park Pool near our homes. Paul always had a smile ,sometimes with a semi-sarcastic sense of humor. God bless you in the next life,Paul, along with condolences for your family. You were blessed.

Rest in Peace compadre. PK was a co-conspirator, boon friend and a deep ocean of knowledge and complexity. And a rascal of the first order.
Life will be a little simpler without Paul, sadly. Many important connections will remain unmade, discoveries undiscovered and theories impenetrable to most unexamined. And life will be a hell of a lot less fun for those lucky few along for the PK ride.
I think of Paul head down in the infinity trough of all understanding, laughing at what he is finding. His spirit will thrive and conversations in paradise just got a lot more stimulating. Adieu

From the cleaning crew to the DARPA Director, PK treated everyone with respect and held a genuine interest in what each of us was contributing. Always ready to have an intellectually stimulating conversation, PK was able to teach, mentor, and learn from everyone he met. I am better for having worked with him and the country better for having him serve her. May God bless and keep his family in faith.

Paul was a long-time colleague and friend. He and I would talk occasionally -- about all sorts of things "intelligence," and every time I came away with more insight than I had before the conversation. He ribbed me once in a while about "intelligence failures," but never in a demeaning way. His refernce to the intelligence community were always both informed and accurate. He was -- I know -- a patriot and a very fine intelligence officer, although many of you may not think of him that way. I do, and I am honored to have served with him. I will miss him.

PK was brilliant; he was passionate about his work; he was a patriot; and he had an infectious sense of humor. What was not to like?

To the Family and Friends of Paul Kozemchak (PK),

Mr. Kozemchak will be remembered as an illustrious man!!

He was always seen with a Smile on his face and very engaging.

PK and I would see one another in the halls and embrace with a handshake turned hug. He was a Genuine Human Being and always made time to chat.

When providing support in his office, he would often share more of himself from photos, new gadgets or do-dads of interests and would always say you can come by anytime you'd like to play around with them. I'd tell him, Sir I'd need two books of instructions to figure it all out. We'd laugh.

PK often spoke of Family. One conversation sticks out in particular about a 4th of July Family Celebration in downtown DC. He described the fireworks and outing so vividly and poignant.

I also remember when his health was tasked a while ago, he still kept his head up. I recall one day telling him that wasn't going to be a permanent attire. He Smiled and gave a wink.

His Presence will surely be Missed at DARPA and I will certainly miss him forgetting his password, his candid smile and unwavering persona. What a honor to have had the opportunity to embrace his Presence.

My Sincere and Deepest Condolences to the Family. May you find comfort in knowing that I wish you all peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.

PK was one of the first people I met when I started working at DARPA. Always armed with a smile and some encouraging words.... I smiled whenever I saw him coming. Such a sweet and nice man. It was an honor to know PK. After my appointment to DARPA he was the first person i met after meeting the Agency Director; excited to see me as the next operational liaison. He immediately began telling me of all the innovative projects that were being worked on for our military. I will never forget how he would end his explanations with " You cant make this stuff up". Always cheerful, friendly and that infectious smile is something you cant forget. Always a great friend who was the center of all our DARPA parties! He also made a big impact on both my boys who were into Legos when he sent home a MindStorm robotic Lego for them to build with a set of collection guidelines to me to watch them as they assembled the robot. They have the robot to this day from Dr K at DARPA. PK's contributions to our nation and to all of us have left a profound positive impact on us all. We miss you dearly. Thank you for what you have done for us and the opportunity to know you. May it be said Well Done , Be thou at Peace. With much respect your dear friends , God Bless - The Sauers

PK was a great guy and I see as a mentor. The first time I met him, I just started a few months a the Helpdesk. I came to help him with his computer issue, and we had a long talk about learning and seeing the future. This led to years of mentoring of how I need to keep focus and keep learning, and see the future not just today. I keep reminding myself of that everyday for 12 years now. I mentor my team the same way, I am deeply saddened by the loss that you and your family have encountered. My condolences.

PK was a strong force of encouragement and I am so grateful he considered me worthy of being part of his life story. For his family, he was so happy to share pictures of those grandbabies! He has left all of us and our country with an enormous legacy. I'm heartbroken and will deeply cherish every picture, every text, every conversation with him - I am a better person for knowing him. His life was truly well lived. His favorite Bible verse shared with me was Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, And who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I! Send me." I will not forget his lessons.
